Please go to the library text book room 3rd period and check out Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli.
Before reading, please complete the following IN YOUR JOURNAL:
1. Read the title of the book.

4. Page through the book.
5. What are you expecting this book to be about?
6. Do you think you will enjoy the book? Why or why not?
Today: After doing a little research and answering questions 1-4 in your journal, please begin reading silently in class (3rd period). At the end of 3rd period, please stop reading and in your journal, respond to what you read. You may use one of the following prompts or answer all of them, or pick your own:
A. What questions do you have about the book, story, a character, etc.
B. What did you notice about the writing style? How does the book open and grab your attention?
C. What are the strengths or weaknesses of the book so far?
D. Does the book, setting, character, etc. remind you of your own experiences? If so, which ones?

G. I really liked...
H. I think the next thing that will happen in the story is...
Finally, record the last page you read on the slip of paper handed out to you and turn in for participation credit.

I think the book will be about a eclectic girl the school has never seen who makes a diffrence but nobody likes but one boy likes for who she is and they get throgh the school's teasing together. I've read bits of this book and it didn't interest me too much because it was just too innocent for me.
I think the book will be about a girl facing the high school problems of popularity and nonconformity. I think I will enjoy this book because some of her problems I feel I can relate to. Also, it shows some of the problems most of us teenagers face today.
i think stargirl will be an interesting book about a girl who faces nonacceptance at school. hopefully i can get into this book because i havent been reading the books assigned in this class. this probably will be a book i enjoy since it seems like a lot of people have read it.
I think that the book is going to be about a girl who is going to face all the troubles of being the new girl in school. And the fact that her real name is Stargirl i dont think its going to make her experience any better. At her knew school she'll probably make some good freinds and enemies and she might even find the love of her life.
i think that this book is about a girl that has to face the problems with being popular. It also show the problems that teeneagers phase now and days. i think that i am going tko injoy this book because it is about everyday problems.
